Deep within the heavily-wooded site, the bold design of this 4,400 sf main house and five building residential complex reflects modern and vernacular themes and thoughtful, exuberant clients. The open floor plan, soaring roof forms and expansive windows take full advantage of the surrounding natural environment, with intimate views of the fresh water pond.
The guest house is broken into two elements. The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchenette are part of a simple form while the sitting room becomes the expressive element. By reversing the roof structure, sight lines are open full height into the canopy of the trees. The exposed structure of the sitting room extends through the glass walls and the exterior porch to merge the inside and outside.
